2015 Episode 19: And That's A Wrap

Okay, we are sorry! It's been a while since our last podcast; a lot of you have been asking for us to get back in the studio to record, we finally made it happen.

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! After Nebraska beat UCLA in the Foster Farms Bowl, Husker fans are thinking BIG for the 2016 season.

Saturday, January 16th, you can get in the football mood at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln. Plan on attending the 16th Annual Rimington Trophy Presentation with guest speaker Lee Corso from ESPN. This year's Rimington Trophy winner is Ryan Kelly from Alabama and former Indianapolis Colts Center Jeff Saturday is the Ford Legends Award winner. In this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by The Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka, and Travis Justice looks back at the bowl game victory, as well as the fine line between winning and losing in the Big 10. Comparing other teams in the conference and what they did this bowl season, Nebraska is the second tier. That's not a bad place to be since Ohio State is the only team that stands out heads and shoulders above the rest of the field.

Dr. Rob, like most Husker fans, likes the way Nebraska ran the ball against UCLA. Does the good Doctor trust Mike Riley enough to stick to the game plan in 2016? It's a topic we spend a lot of time talking about in this podcast.

There were a lot of coaching changes after the regular season ended. Former Husker Scott Frost gets his first gig as a head coach at Central Florida. If (and this is a BIG IF) Scott is not successful, does that rule him out as potential Head Coach at Nebraska some day? It's food for thought, also what if Scott has success right away? Will Nebraska lose its opportunity to bring one of its favorite sons home with plenty of big time jobs that could open up?

The National Championship Game, #1 Clemson will take on #2 Alabama. Dr. Rob gives his take on the game that as the potential to be classic.
