Monday Jul 05, 2021
Monday Jul 05, 2021
We admittedly missed a lot in the last two weeks. But hey, we are entitled to a little R&R, aren't we?
Travis is back from Fort Robinson, Nebraska, where he learned Bill Moos "retired". Dr. Rob Zatechka just returned from the state of Florida. While he was gone, the NCAA approved name, image, and likeness, meaning college kids are now for sale!
On this edition of the Husker DocTalk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Travis and Dr. Rob drink a lot of beer and cover all the bases of what they missed over the last couple of weeks.

2021 Episode 4: Luke McCaffrey Has A High School Arm
Saturday Jun 19, 2021
Saturday Jun 19, 2021
If you are reading this, you might be wondering how in the hell we came up with the title of this episode. As we discussed a couple of different topics, Luke McCaffrey transferring, again, it was by total accident. And Scott Frost is talking about the transfer portal and players getting bad advice. Frost wasn’t wrong, by the way!
The McCaffrey took that as a personal shot, and Luke’s brother Christian took to Twitter to voice his frustration with Frost’s comments.
Hold on didn’t you transfer?😂 PSA to all recruits: take note on how a coach treats his players once they’re no longer useful to him. #CmonMan @coach_frost pic.twitter.com/3ojYASdeml
— Christian McCaffrey (@CMC_22) June 16, 2021
During our conversation, Dr. Rob nonchalantly made the statement, “Luke McCaffrey has a high school arm.” Boom! There was the title of the episode.
Luke McCaffrey isn’t the only topic of discussion on this edition of the Husker DocTalk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. We cover how the Big 10 ruined sports for all its member institutions. We also talk about recruiting, the sexual abuse allegations at Michigan, and you can test positive for steroids by eating a burrito.

2021 Episode 2: Boomer Sooner
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice are back drinking and talking football. What pulled them back into the studio? The rumors (that have since been put to rest) that Nebraska was looking to cancel its 2021 non-conference game with Oklahoma.
But that's not all these two bald dudes talk about over beer. Listen for the next hour and enjoy beer talk with some pigskin mixed in.

2021 Episode 1: Doc Discusses Family
Sunday Jan 24, 2021
Sunday Jan 24, 2021
The name Zatechka is like royalty in Nebraska. Dr. Rob is one of the best o-linemen in Husker history and his brother Jon has three national championship rings and a three-year starter.
Jon's son and Rob's nephew Isaac is taking a preferred walk-on spot at Missouri instead of taking a similar offer at Nebraska. Why? Well, Dr. Rob dishes the family dirt to kick off our first podcast of 2021.
Additionally, we talk about Huskers who have left for what they hope is a brighter future and if Scott Frost is really going to change his offense like he says he will.
But most of all, we drink a lot of beer and have fun so enjoy!

Sunday Dec 20, 2020
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
The season is officially over. Nebraska ends 2020 with a 28-20 over Rutgers and elects not to play in a bowl game with a 3-5 record.
On this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Travis Justice and Dr. Rob Zatecka discuss the choice not to play in a bowl. Also, What is next for Nebraska? Changes? More of the same? Adjustments?
The College Football Playoff has four teams. They are all familiar, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. Dr. Rob spends a lot of time explaining why the playoff should expand. But in the end, did the CFP Committee get the top four teams right? Dr. Rob gives his diagnosis.

2020 Episode 17: This Is Idiotic!
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
Dr. Rob Zatechka is feeling salty! In this edition of the Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob doesn't hold back. In fact, he swears a lot in this episode, not for shock and awe, but rather because he's so passionate about Husker football.
In the middle of recording this, he said something that made so much sense, and that's why it's the title of this episode. This is idiotic; it's just so basic!
He's not happy about losing to Minnesota, and it now looks like Rutgers next week could be a measuring stick for two completely different programs with different expectations.

2020 Episode 16: Nebraska's Biggest Win Of The Year
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Nebraska might just have scored its most significant win of the season this week. We aren't talking about the 37-27 win over Purdue. The victory we are talking about is the satisfaction of knowing you were right along. Now, even the Huskers' most staunch detractors have to admit it.
On this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss another crazy COVID week in the Big 10. Ohio State has just five games played this season. When Conference leadership wrote the rules at the beginning of the season, that would not have been enough to play in the Big 10 Championship game. But the Buckeyes have a chance at the College Football Playoff and a National Championship. This league was so hell-bent on not changing its stance for anyone (especially Nebraska) caved under pressure. And rightfully so!
So Nebraska heads into its game with Minnesota full of confidence after a win against Purdue and the satisfaction of waving a big middle-finger at the likes of Pat Forde, Paul Finebaum, Dennis Dodd, and Steward Mandel. Maybe this season a'int so bad after all.
