2019 Episode 10: Does Nebraska Have Meaningful Gameday Traditions?
Monday Aug 19, 2019
Monday Aug 19, 2019
Sports Illustrated recently put out its top 10 college football traditions. Nothing at Nebraska made the SI list. This topic got Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice thinking, does Nebraska HAVE any gameday traditions of significance? Anything the team or fans do that can get them closer to that top 10? After all, Nebraska is one of the all-time winningest programs in college football history; it has to have some great traditions, right?
On this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, we dive into traditions, those that made the SI list an those that did not.
Also, Dr. Rob takes lots of listener email questions. He spends a lot of time discussing his favorite position group, the offensive line. Is the talent and depth there to take the Huskers' offense to the next level?

2019 Episode 8: Dave Ellis Interview
Monday Aug 05, 2019
Monday Aug 05, 2019
What does it take to feed an entire football team and make sure every player has the hydration and the fuel to perform at their very best?We give you the answer on this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy.
It's all about science! This means Dr. Rob Zatechka is geeking out about the conversation we have with Dave Ellis, the Director of Performance Nutrition at the University of Nebraska. Dave was at Nebraska perfecting his craft (and his meals) when Dr. Rob was a player. A lot has changed over time, and a lot hasn't; we are confident you will find our interview with Dave, both educational and entertaining.
Note: This interview was conducted before fall practice started, so keep that in mind as you listen.

2019 Episode 7: Let The Fun and Games Begin
Sunday Jul 28, 2019
Sunday Jul 28, 2019
Finally! It’s back to work, back to practice, back to football in America. College football teams across the country start fall camp this week. This means our time will be consumed analyzing every move by coaches and players from the first team down the scout team walk-ons.
On this episode of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka, and Travis Justice discuss several topics as the season gets started.
It used to be that fall camp was a time to impress coaches and earn playing time. Is this still the case? With spring football, summer conditioning, data, analytics, etc.; coaches now have more information than ever on players and what they can and can’t do. But do the numbers always tell the truth?
Don’t forget, Husker Fan Day is Thursday, August 1st at Memorial Stadium for 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. You can have pay to get Scott Frost’s autograph, and he’s only signing for kids.
Travis turned Dr. Rob on to some fantastic content this week. So amazing newspapers should be worried, very worried. I’m talking about The Athletic. The website is running a phenomenal series on conference realignment. One of the stories that got the attention of Husker fans was on the “budding” rivalry with Iowa. Of course, this made Travis very, very happy but got under the skin of a lot of Big Red faithful.
Do yourself a favor subscribe to The Athletic!

2019 Episode 5: Pipeline Camp
Sunday Jun 16, 2019
Sunday Jun 16, 2019
The famed and original "Pipeline" was back at Memorial Stadium for the 2019 Nebraska Pipeline Offensive Line Camp.
Dr. Rob Zatechka was there to work one-on-one with over 300-campers. He's very limited on what he can say because of NCAA rules; he had to choose between being a coach/instructor or a media member. Yes, even this podcast is considered media.
Despite not being able to talk about individual players, Dr. Rob gives excellent insight into what went on at the camp and how the "Pipeline" connected with recruits.... errrr campers.

Before we start this podcast, we want to point out that May is Mustaches for Kids month. Dr. Rob participates in this event every year as it raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities that focus on kids. This year the fundraising event will benefit Angles Among Us. The organization helps families with their financial support when a child has been diagnosed with cancer. You can help Dr. Rob meet his goal by CLICKING HERE and donating. Thank you in advance for your support.
Dr. Rob and Travis are back with another Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. Yes, it's been a while, but when real life gets in the way, it's not as easy to get in the studio as you might think.
On this edition, we talk about the NFL Daft and the fact that no Husker player was selected; ending a 56-year streak that dated back to 1962. If you don't like the fact no player was selected this year, Dr. Rob says you better brace for a repeat in 2020 but after that, if all goes to plan a new streak will begin.
How about the spring game? Did Dr. Rob come away impressed with what he saw? Short answer, yes... and no. But keep in mind, it's only a spring game.
Finally, Fred Hoiberg is off to a fast start as the Head Coach of the Nebraska Basketball Team. We don't talk a lot of basketball, but we do tall about the fact we were talking about Fred being the Huskers head coach as far back as December or January.
