2018 Episode 10: Rock Bottom Is Pretty Low
Monday Sep 24, 2018
Monday Sep 24, 2018
Blame Travis for the first three minutes of this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. You see Travis forgot to turn up Dr. Rob's microphone so you can barely hear him. Be patient because it doesn't last long.
The good news is that Rob's mic is loud and clear when he starts talking about losing at Michigan. Bad! Really, really bad. Dr. Rob also reminds us that hitting rock bottom also means you can stay at the bottom for a while, but the bottom of the barrel is not a reason to throw in the towel.
The Frost effect had a huge impact on fans, but fans sometimes, or in this case can have unrealistic expectations. The truth is, this team and its players aren't that good... yet. That fact is starting to set in with a lot of people as the Huskers drop to 0-3 on the season.
People want to know, did the Huskers quite against Michigan? Dr. Rob gives his insight. Will the Huskers win a game this season? Dr. Rob dials in this thoughts while drinking some delicious Infusion Brewing Company Imperial Stout.
Also, back by popular demand, we take listener email. Lots of great questions this week as many people need to be talked off the ledge or at least get some reassurance that things are heading in the right directions.
We can attest that the BEST Husker gear can be found at Husker Hounds, three locations in Omaha and online at HuskerHounds.com. The ONLY place to get tickets to Husker games or any event for that matter is Ticket Express.

2018 Episode 9: You Have Questions, Dr. Rob Has Answers
Tuesday Sep 18, 2018
Tuesday Sep 18, 2018
On this episode of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, you the listener dictate exactly what we are talking about.
Nebraska starting the season 0-2 for the first time in decades means people have questions even with a new coaching staff that was brought in to change the culture and return the Huskers to the glory days.
Dr. Rob Zatechka answers a lot of questions and does his best to talk a lot of Husker fans off the ledge. Taking all these questions required a lot of Infusion Brewing Company beer, this week a new release, the Vanilla Bean Pumpkin. A season just in time for fall.
We want to send a shout out to all our additional sponsors who make this podcast possible, Ticket Express, Husker Hounds, and HuskerMax.
Nebraska is at Michigan this weekend, a double-digit underdog heading into the Big House. Going, to be honest, we don't spend a lot of time talking about this game, mostly towards the end. This episode is all about the problems at hand.

2018 Episode 8: The Cheap Shot On Adrian
Tuesday Sep 11, 2018
Tuesday Sep 11, 2018
What does a bunch of doctors do when a player gets hurt? They gather around the TV, watch the replay and see if they can diagnose it. If they can't they sure as hell will talk about it.
On this Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, former Husker Dr. Rob Zatechka gives his best medical opinion on the injury to Nebraska's freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez. First of all, does Dr. Rob think the hit on Martinez was intentional and deliberate? Secondly, Scott Frost says Martinez is day to day, does Dr. Rob agree with that assessment?
As Dr. Rob continues to drink some Infusion Brewing beer during the podcast he shares his thoughts on what he really thinks about handing out blackshirts. His feeling may surprise many of you.
Sure Nebraska got beat by Colorado, but Dr. Rob shares the belief of many other, the future is bright and future could be here sooner than you know it.
Looking for Husker tickets? The best place to find them is at Ticket Express. Looking for something new to wear to the game or decorate the house with? Husker Hounds has you covered, three locations in Omaha and online.

2018 Episode 7: Still Left Wondering What This Team Looks Like
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
Damn you Mother Nature! There were over 90,000 people excited to see the the start of the Scott Frost era but a little lighting ruined that and now we are left waiting to see what the hype is all about and if the Huskers are going to need that 12th game to get to a bowl.
On this weeks Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss the damage Mother Nature left last weekend and the damage she may have done for Saturday's game against Colordao.
The Buffalos come to Lincoln after an easy win over Colorado State and it appears they pack a lot of fire power. Now it remains to be seen of Colorado is that good offensivley or if the team they played was just that bad. Regardless, Dr. Rob says the one game gives Colordao the edge, even if it is a slight one.

2018 Episode 6: Where Have You Gone Tristan Gebbia
Tuesday Aug 28, 2018
Tuesday Aug 28, 2018
The last thing Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice thought they would be talking about on game week is one of the top two quarterbacks quitting the team and then transferring. We have come to realize that the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy is always full of surprises.
As most of you know, a day after officially naming Adrian Martinez the starting quarterback, Tristan Gebbia quit the team and has been granted his release to transfer.
Martinez is the ONLY scholarship quarterback for Nebraska now. On Saturday against Akron, he will become the first true freshman to start at quarterback in Nebraska history. So does Gebbia leaving ad to or take away the pressure on Martinez? Dr. Rob spends a lot of time talking about how the situation has changed overnight for the freshman.
While drinking a freshly tapped Infusionfest Beer from Infusion Brewing this week, Dr. Rob and Travis go through the entire depth chart, the strengths, and the weaknesses. Martinez is the only youngster you are going to see on the field.

2018 Episode 5: More is More
Saturday Aug 18, 2018
Saturday Aug 18, 2018
Every week on the Husker Doct Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy we encourage listeners to send in questions via email. Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice have come to learn over the years that fans are pretty smart, not only in their knowledge of football but the questions they ask.
In this episode, we started off with a basic outline of what we wanted to talk about but our ideas quickly were tossed aside as Rob goes deep into a question asked by a listener. The just gist of it is this, more is more. There is a philosophy in the sports of football that less is more but at a place like Nebraska you can never have enough, and we are talking about players. Listen to the entire episode to hear how Dr. Rob goes into detail on how to build depth with 150 or more players on the team.
Past Rimington Trophy Winners
Depth isn't the only thing discussed while drinking a growler of Red X IPA from Infusion Brewing Company. More information on the QB's and some recruiting talk as well.
Don't forget to get your tickets for the upcoming season as well as any other events at Ticket Express, this includes Husker Volleyball and Kelly Clarkson tickets at the Nebraska State Fair.
Husker Hounds is your official store for everything Big Red. Three locations in the Omaha area or order online at HuskerHounds.com.

2018 Episode 4: Talking Quarterbacks and Runningbacks
Friday Aug 10, 2018
Friday Aug 10, 2018
The Huskers are wrapping up their first official week of the 2018 fall camp and based in the media availability given so far; we know very little than what we did before practice started.
Is that statement 100% accurate? Probably not but it seems like we are seeing and hearing less out of practice than earlier years. That's not necessarily a bad thing considering the 24/7/365 news and content cycle we live in today.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. This week Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice talk about a couple of positions that Husker fans will have their eyes on early on in the season, quarterback and running backs.
Rimington Trophy Watch List
Dr. Rob says the race at quarterback reminds him of 1992 a little bit when Mike Grant started the season as the starter but true freshman Tommie Frazier took over midseason.
What will the running back position look like in this Scott Frost offense? Husker fans have an idea of what a running back looks like and should play like, but the position is changing, evolving and the starter might come out of a different mold.
Of course, Dr. Rob and Travis are drinking Infusion Brewing Company beer, this week, a Mango Habenero Wit. The right amount of citrus and the right amount of heat that makes the brew a great drink on a summer night.
Need Husker gear for the upcoming season? Make sure to do your shopping at Husker Hounds.
Need tickets for the upcoming season? How about Club Level seats, Champions Club passes, and even parking passes? Ticket Express is the only place we trust to get you in the game and to sit where you want.

2018 Episode 3: Fall Camp Starts
Friday Aug 03, 2018
Friday Aug 03, 2018
Football is back baby! This means we start up the weekly recordings of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy. It's great to have our sponsors back again this season including:
Infusion Brewing Company
Ticket Express
Husker Hounds
Fall camp is starting as we record, but our first conversation spends more talking about Ohio State and Urban Meyer if he returns to coach the Buckeyes this season. What we do know is that protected me who beat women are not good people.
Once we start talking about the Huskers, we dive into the importance of Dave Ellis returning to team as well as Ron Brown. We don't spend a lot of time talking about players or positions. That starts next week.
