2018 Episode 2: Summer Musings
Thursday Jul 12, 2018
Thursday Jul 12, 2018
It's hotter than hell outside! Unless you like soccer and regular season baseball the sports world has reached its dead period. So Dr. Rob and Travis decided there was no better time than the present to get together, drink beer and ponder our summer musings about the upcoming college football season.
We cover a lot in this episode and we missed a lot as well. If you ever have a topic that you want us to talk about you can always email us, doctalksports@gmail.com.
In this podcast cover the upcoming Big 10 Media days and if it's good or bad that the conference does not have an "official" pre-season All-Conference Team and pre-season order of finish in each division.
Players leaving, yes we talk about that as well and we talk a lot about Frank Solich coming back in 2019 to accept the Osborne Legacy Award.
Tom Osborne is opposed to gambling. We aren't! Now that the Supreme Court as said sports gambling can be legal outside of Vegas will it have an impact on the sport?
Speaking of coming back, we are pleased to report that ALL our sponsors are back from the 2018 season. The Rimington Trophy, Ticket Express, Husker Hounds and Infusion Brewing Company. Thanks to them this drunkfest.... errrr podcast is possible.
Dr. Rob is always fired up on Twitter, just ask him about socialized medicine and you are sure to get a response. Follow him on Twitter @doctalksports.

2018 Episode 1: The Frost Has Thawed
Saturday Apr 28, 2018
Saturday Apr 28, 2018
Okay we know what you are thinking, you see the title, "The Frost Has Thawed," and this is going to be a negative podcast. Quite the contrary! The title of this podcast is a cheezy play on words and signifies all the hype surrounding Nebraska Football, Scott Frost, and spring practice have calmed down a little.
We were looking for a good reason to get back in the studio to record and drink beer! So on this special spring edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, we start with the most recent events and work our way backward. If you are a regular listener to this podcast, you know that we can stray onto different topics from time to time and this is no different in this podcast.
Dr. Rob Zatechka has some pretty strong opinions about what he has seen so far from the new coaching staff, and he likes what he sees and hears.
If you want a couple more podcast before August, let us know, and we will try and get back into the studio. If you have questions, you can always email us at doctalksports@gmail.com and follow Dr. Rob on Twitter, @doctalksports.

2017 Episode 18: Mike Riley A Husker In 2018? There's A Possibility!
Monday Nov 20, 2017
Monday Nov 20, 2017
It is only fitting that a miserable season ends with a miserable made up trophy game. The only bright spot Husker fans can take away from this weeks game with Iowa is the fact that Mike Riley will be fired after the game.
But what if Riley were to stay at Nebraska? Would you be on board? This topic is what Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss in this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy.
Mike Riley is well liked in the state (besides his coaching). Mike Riley has solidified an excellent recruiting class that Nebraska would want to hang on to even with a coaching transition. So is there a place for Riley at Nebraska if he's not on the bench?
Dr. Rob believes Scott Frost is coming to Nebraska, but when? After the regular season? After the American Conference Championship Game? After the UCF Bowl Game? It's about timing, and right now there may not be a good time to leave UCF with the Golden Knights being undefeated.
Get our tickets for Friday's game at Tickets Express and make sure to get your gear at Husker Hounds. By the way, both places are great to pick up Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.

2017 Episode 17: The Pros and Cons of the Nebraska Job
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Can we just all assume that Mike Riley is going to be fired after the Iowa game? Okay, now that we've agreed on that it's time to have a serious conversation.
In the edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss the pros and cons of the Nebraska job. Everyone wants Scott Frost, and it would be foolish to think the former Nebraska quarterback isn't at least a little stimulated by the thought of coming home to lead his alma mater. But this might be tough for Husker fans to hear, the Nebraska is NOT the best job in college football, and right now it's not even one of the top 10 positions in the sport.
We have this exchange while drinking some Loose Morals from Infusion Brewing Company. This beer is not for the novice craft beer drinker. In fact, you will hear Dr. Rob's buzz take effect during this hour-plus podcast. So much so he almost beats Travis to a pulp! You will have to listen to the whole episode to hear what we are talking about and what set Dr. Rob off the deep end.
Don't forget to get your tickets to the Iowa game at Ticket Express. It also has tickets for basketball games, volleyball matches, and concerts.
The Holiday season is upon us and Husker fans wear red win or lose. Husker Hounds is the place to find the best Big Red gift for the Nebraska fan in your family.

2017 Episode 16: How Can It Not Be Over?
Wednesday Nov 08, 2017
Wednesday Nov 08, 2017
We know that Bill Moos as come out and said that no decision had been made on the fate of Mike Riley job status. What else is he going to say? If Moos were to proclaim that an outcome of Riley's job status had been decided not announce what it was, we would have chaos for next three weeks. I'm mean the rumor mill seriously is running 24/7 the way it is.
On this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss the Riley news conference on Monday. The way he looked, the way he sounded they both came away with the same conclusion; How can it not be over already? Paraphrasing here, but when coach Riley said he had conversations will Moos and but will keep the nature of those discussions private "for now" that raised some eyebrows in our studio.
Throw in the fact that Nebraska lost to Northwestern when it could have and should have won. And Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco's almost incoherent rambling the downward spiral continues to pick up speed. Lord know the fans are impatient and social media, radio, tv, and newspaper chatter of Scott Frost coming up to save the day is like a prophecy straight out of the book of Revelation.
It doesn't matter how the team is playing; Husker fans show their pride by wearing Nebraska gear year round. Husker Hounds is the place to get the best Big Red gear and with Christmas just over a month away now is the time to get your shopping done.
The Huskers have one home game left. Don't miss the battle for the Hero's Trophy against Iowa. Ticket Express is where you get the best Husker tickets. Great seats are always available for football, basketball, concerts and more.
