2017 Episode 17: The Pros and Cons of the Nebraska Job
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Can we just all assume that Mike Riley is going to be fired after the Iowa game? Okay, now that we've agreed on that it's time to have a serious conversation.
In the edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss the pros and cons of the Nebraska job. Everyone wants Scott Frost, and it would be foolish to think the former Nebraska quarterback isn't at least a little stimulated by the thought of coming home to lead his alma mater. But this might be tough for Husker fans to hear, the Nebraska is NOT the best job in college football, and right now it's not even one of the top 10 positions in the sport.
We have this exchange while drinking some Loose Morals from Infusion Brewing Company. This beer is not for the novice craft beer drinker. In fact, you will hear Dr. Rob's buzz take effect during this hour-plus podcast. So much so he almost beats Travis to a pulp! You will have to listen to the whole episode to hear what we are talking about and what set Dr. Rob off the deep end.
Don't forget to get your tickets to the Iowa game at Ticket Express. It also has tickets for basketball games, volleyball matches, and concerts.
The Holiday season is upon us and Husker fans wear red win or lose. Husker Hounds is the place to find the best Big Red gift for the Nebraska fan in your family.

2017 Episode 16: How Can It Not Be Over?
Wednesday Nov 08, 2017
Wednesday Nov 08, 2017
We know that Bill Moos as come out and said that no decision had been made on the fate of Mike Riley job status. What else is he going to say? If Moos were to proclaim that an outcome of Riley's job status had been decided not announce what it was, we would have chaos for next three weeks. I'm mean the rumor mill seriously is running 24/7 the way it is.
On this edition of the Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice discuss the Riley news conference on Monday. The way he looked, the way he sounded they both came away with the same conclusion; How can it not be over already? Paraphrasing here, but when coach Riley said he had conversations will Moos and but will keep the nature of those discussions private "for now" that raised some eyebrows in our studio.
Throw in the fact that Nebraska lost to Northwestern when it could have and should have won. And Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco's almost incoherent rambling the downward spiral continues to pick up speed. Lord know the fans are impatient and social media, radio, tv, and newspaper chatter of Scott Frost coming up to save the day is like a prophecy straight out of the book of Revelation.
It doesn't matter how the team is playing; Husker fans show their pride by wearing Nebraska gear year round. Husker Hounds is the place to get the best Big Red gear and with Christmas just over a month away now is the time to get your shopping done.

2017 Episode 15: Are Husker Fans Really The Best In College Football?
Thursday Nov 02, 2017
Thursday Nov 02, 2017
Are Husker fans that different from other college football fan bases? Sure they are "nice", but they are also vicious to their own when it comes expectations of the program and living up to those lofty goals.
In this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Travis Justice, and Dr. Rob Zatechka discuss this passion that at times borders on the lunatic fringe. At this point, Mike Riley can do nothing right, and he's being talked about in the past tense as the voices for Scott Frost are reaching record decibels. Adding to the chorus is Athletic Director Bill Moos who praised Frosts resume on Nick Bahe's radio show on 1620 The Zone in Omaha.
Fandom isn't the only thing we talk about this week. A lacklustre win at Purdue, the Northwestern game on Saturday and lots of questions from listeners.

2017 Episode 14: Dave Rimington In Studio
Wednesday Oct 25, 2017
Wednesday Oct 25, 2017
Now that he's done being the Interim Athletic Director at Nebraska, Dave Rimington can get back to his regular life. Before that full transition takes place Dave stops by to visit with with Travis and Dr. Rob about his short, but productive time back in Lincoln. Since he sponsors this podcast it only makes sense that he would make a guest appearance don't you think.
Dave is really nice, he let Dr. Rob drink all the Infusion Brewing Company Peanut Butter Stout. Listen if you are loooking for answers to questions like, is Mike Riley going to get fired? Or, is Scott Frost going to be the next coach, Dave can't answer and doesn't want to answer those questions and we respect that. He does however give great insight into how he was hired and the processes that lead to the hiring of Bill Moos.
You probably won't get all the answers you are looking for but this is fun and insightful conversation with a man who loves Nebraska and will do his part, whatever that may be to make sure the Huskers succeed.
Starting your holdiday shopping? Make sure to get to Husker Hounds for the big red lover in your life.

Thursday Oct 19, 2017
Welcome, Bill Moos! Now what? That's the question every Husker fan is asking right now. What happens with Mike Riley? What happens if there is a coaching search. What happens that is any different than what fans have seen over last 10-plus years.
In this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob and Travis discuss these questions and much more. One question that is pondered, what exactly do people want out of the Athletic Director? It might be a harder question to answer than you think.

Tuesday Oct 03, 2017
Sure Nebraska might be 2-0 in the Big 10, but are the Huskers even relevant in football conversations anymore? It's a tough pill to swallow but has some truth to it.
In this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast Presented by the Rimington Trophy, Dr. Rob and Travis discuss Nebraska's relevancy and what it takes to be part of the conversation. Here's a hint, it's going to take a lot more than two wins against two bad teams. But hope is not lost.
