2015 Episode 4: The Jones Fracture
Thursday Aug 20, 2015
Thursday Aug 20, 2015
When a Husker player is injured we count on two different places for honest information. The first is Mike Riley, okay he might not be totally honest, but he speaks with authority. The 2nd is Dr. Rob Zatechka. Hey, what would a doctor be if he can't give his opinion about injuries? Tonight we discuss the Jones fracture of Husker star wide receiver De'Mornay Pierson-El's injury. Originally it was stated that Pierson-El would be out 6-8 weeks, but in this Omaha World-Herald story, Head Coach Mike Riley indicates it could be a little longer.First of all, what is a Jones fracture? Dr. Rob explains only like a doctor can. Also, what does this mean for the Nebraska special teams unit as Jordan Westercamp is now the #1 punt returner? If you listen long enough, you will find out what Dr. Rob has over both Pierson-El and Westercamp. We like to hear you thoughts on this Podcast, leave your comments below. Also if you have any questions for Dr. Rob feel free to ask them in the comments section and make sure to follow him on Twitter @doctalksports.

2015 Episode 3 Unprecendented Access
Thursday Aug 13, 2015
Thursday Aug 13, 2015
We have all heard about how Mike Riley is a really, really nice guy. The media love affair with him since moved to Lincoln has been borderline pornographic. Every newspaper in the state has slobbered over him with positive coverage trying to earn his affection.Well, I wonder how they feel today? Mike Riley is nice... He's just a lot nice to Kerry Eggers from the Portland Tribune. Eggers was given unprecedented access to the Nebraska coaching staff and meeting with what some would consider to be classified information. It was great journalism that gave Nebraska fans a rare look on the inside of the program they love so much. If you haven't seen the article you can read it here.In this week's Husker Doc Talk Podcast, Dr. Rob discusses the good and the bad that can come from granting access like this to someone other than a local media member. As a fan, it's awesome. As a media member, there's good reason to feel a little butt hurt. Good or bad we know a lot more today about the inner circle of Mike Riley and it's a lot more informative than a daily practice report. Our beer of the week from The Benson Brewery: The Benson BlondeWe would love your feedback, leave your comments below.
